Seven Absurdities of Evolution

Many Christian leaders have defected, choosing to believe in evolution rather than taking the creation account in Genesis literally. Many think they are doing this for scientific reasons, if so, I hope reading this will cause at least a few to reconsider.

Making of the Bible

The Bible enjoys the highest circulation of any book in the world. It has been translated into more languages, and read by more people than any other book. The Old and New Testament are and have always been the most quoted literature in all of history. At the same time, the Bible is the most attacked book in all of history.

Today the Bible is banned in 38 countries, and restricted in many others. In the western world, liberals try to forbid Bible reading in school, or any other part of public life. You can read anything else; this is the only book that universally offends them. These attacks are not new. Theologian John Wycliffe, the first person to translate the Bible into English in the 1380s, was in his last days persecuted by the church. In 1428 his remains were dug up, burned, and the ashes cast into the a river. In 1536 William Tyndale was also martyred (He was strangled to death and his remains burned on a stake) for translating the Bible into English. Many others in both ancient and modern times have come to untimely ends because they believed the Bible was the Word of God. In fact, the Word of God has been under attack since the very beginning of recorded history. This first recorded attack is in the Book of Genesis,

Christians who share the Bible as the Word of God often receive the comeback, "The Bible was only written by men". Actually since this is also true, we should spend a little time to learn how the Bible was made in the first place and then later preserved. The Goal of Apologetics is to show a sincere seeker that while the Bible was penned by men, it is authored by God. And since this is so, we should be able to show that the Bible is accurate historically, scientifically, and when God speaks of future events, prophetically.

Common Proofs for the Pretribulation Rapture Refuted

My position is that there is no mention of the pretribulation rapture in the Bible. In such a debate, the person who is teaching the pre-tribulation rapture has the burden of proof if he expects us to believe him. Whenever I have asked a brother to show me a scriptural proof for the pretribulation rapture, He has invariably shown me one of the eleven following proofs. Let's look at these proofs by reading the verses in context.

Raising Children to Stay in the Faith

My daughter, Sarah, a waitress at a local restaurant, told the story of a family she was serving. There was the father, mother and four or five children. Their ages ranged from about one to eleven. They were all happy, and she never heard the children whine, beg or quarrel, including the baby. They all sat still in their seats, being attentive to each other, telling stories and having fun. They were content with their meal. By the end of the dinner, Sarah noticed that the children had not had any spills or made the usual mess. As they were leaving the restaurant, she complimented the father on his pleasant children. Then the seven year old said, very matter-of-factly, "Oh he knows that, he hears it all the time". The father laughed and nodded in agreement that what his child said was true.

Predestination or Free Moral Agency?

John Calvin taught that God unconditionally predestined every person’s eternal fate before the world began. This fate is unconditional, having nothing to do with our own will or obedience. Thus, men do not possess free will or free moral agency. Lets compare this the what the Bible teaches.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

Unfortunately this is only a web site; if you are really suffering right now, you probably need something more, maybe even a shoulder to lean on. But understanding why God allows suffering, and how He uses it for our ultimate good may offer some comfort. My goals in writing this paper are to offer you encouragement and to help you encourage others.

Mistakes not to make in Bible Study

23 Mistakes not to make, plus 15 rules to help understand Scripture.

Holy Bible

As a new Christian, when I listened to the radio, it was always tuned to some Christian station. It wasn't long before I started hearing sermons that contradicted each other. Each pastor spoke with authority, and sounded right. But how was I to know? If you have ever studied the Bible with others outside of your own denomination, you have discovered that the Christian community is divided over many doctrines. My conclusion is that in every case where there is a disagreement, one or both brothers have made a mistake in the way they interpret the Word of God.

The Bible's Scientific Accuracy

The primary purpose of the Bible is not to be a science book. A textbook may have a chapter describing the solar system yet the Bible has only a few passages. It is the timeless quality that makes the Bible's science important, compared to science books which must be revised every few years or become obsolete.

This study will start by using the scriptures to adjure Christians to reason and learn knowledge. Though some already do, others seem to believe that reasoning goes against faith.

I will also adjure the skeptic to approach this study with an open mind. I am not asking him to be mindless or gullible, rather to truly understand the thought, before he starts scoffing at it. We will look at what it means to be a scientist and then apply scientific techniques to the Bible's controversial passages.

Prophecy is the signature of God

Isaiah 46:9-10 ~ [The Lord Himself said:]Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure

Since there are thousands of religions in the world, Christians are often asked how we know ours is the true religion. One answer is prophecy, the gods in no other religion tell us the end from the beginning. It is through Bible prophecy that we see our God is in complete control, a comforting thought in these hectic days. In contrast what other holy book can compare? Isaiah himself puts forth this challenge:

Isaiah 41:23 ~ Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Matthew 7:15-20 ~ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

The Winepress of God's Wrath

The winepress is a literal event at the end of the Battle of Armageddon. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Law and Grace

Generally, the evangelical community believes that our salvation comes by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, there is often confusion as to the balance between law and grace. Pastors will use the Ten Commandments and teach us not to lie or steal, yet the Ten Commandments also forbids us to make an image...
